What is your favorite Scouting Event? World Jamboree
What do you most enjoy doing? Working in the garden when it’s 60 degrees outside and sunny.
If you had unlimited time and resources, what would you chose to do? Travel through North America and Europe in a convertible, interpreting what I see through photography, art, and short essays.
When you daydream, what do you see yourself doing? I hit a crisp 6-iron 175 yards that draws ever so slightly onto the 16th green at Augusta National; the ball catches the hill and ends up 4 feet from the hole tucked tightly in the Sunday pin position. Instead of choking my guts out and missing the putt like I did in 1991, this time I smoothly stroke the curling left-to-right putt and it falls cleanly into the hole.
What are the three most important things in your life? My faith, my family, and friends.
What do most people not know about you? My college tuition was paid for by the Kentucky Bureau for the Blind but most of my passions are visual.
If you were a movie star, who would you be and why? A television star I’d like to be is Ty Pennington from “Extreme Home Makeover” – He leads a group of talented, creative people on a 6-day highly-organized project that will target a small group (family) of deserving people. This gift will enable them to better continue a mission of their own. (Sounds like something else, doesn’t it)
If you had a super power, what would it be? Time travel
What is your favorite food or meal? “Shrimp with Candied Walnuts” from PF Chang’s – tender shrimp tossed in a creamy sauce with candied walnuts and honeydew melon.
What is something silly about you that would surprise other people? I have been a Sunday morning preschool teacher for 28 years known as “Mr. Mark” and can frequently be seen marching, dancing, and playing games with 4 year olds.
What is your favorite childhood memory? Going to the Post Office with my mother to get the latest plate block of commemorative stamps.
What are your hobbies? Drawing/painting, piddling in the garden, and an occasional round of golf.
What is your favorite music and bands? Beethoven symphonies & Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band.
